Michael Byrd is a Managing Director for the Endowment & Foundation Practice at Cambridge Associates.
Michael joined Cambridge Associates in 2008 and has more than 20 years of investing experience. He works with a broad range of clients including charitable foundations, educational institutions, and other non-profit institutions to construct and oversee hedge fund portfolios. Michael has also co-authored a firm research report, Implementing Investments in Real Assets.
Before rejoining Cambridge Associates in 2008, Michael was a Vice President at Rock Creek Group, a hedge fund-of-funds in Washington, D.C. His primary responsibilities included hedge fund manager due diligence, portfolio construction, and client review meetings. Prior to working at Rock Creek Group, Michael was a generalist at Cambridge Associates working with a variety of non-profit institutions and private clients on issues such as asset allocation, manager selection, and program evaluation. Before Michael joined Cambridge Associates, he was an Assistant Vice President at GE Capital in the commercial finance group, where he analyzed and structured debt facilities for clients.
Michael received his MBA from the University of Rochester and his BBA from James Madison University. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
