Mary Jo Palermo

Partner, Private Client Practice

Mary Jo Palermo is a Partner for the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates.

Mary Jo has been with Cambridge Associates since 2004 and has more than 35 years of experience as an investor. She manages over $11 billion in assets for family office and endowment clients.

With a background in emerging markets, Mary Jo authored, The Case for Diversified Emerging Markets Exposure, which was widely covered in industry publications. She has also presented on emerging markets and assets allocation within CA and at external conferences. Additionally, she is a contributing leader on our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, and sits on CA’s Diverse Manager Council.

Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Mary Jo worked in the venture capital group at J.P. Morgan Chase, where she led a team charged with screening and launching new businesses with a focus on asset management. Previously, Mary Jo spent 12 years at J.P. Morgan & Co., where she began in institutional emerging markets fixed income sales and trading, covering Latin American institutional clients. She later became Head of the Mexico high-net-worth client wealth business with operations in New York and Geneva. Prior to J.P. Morgan Chase, Mary Jo was at Chase Manhattan Bank working on direct investing with high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors. Prior to this, she was in the institutional group at Chemical Bank.

Mary Jo received her BA from the University of Vermont. She has also completed the Credit Training Program at Chemical Bank along with The New York University Stern School of Business and Columbia Business School.
